Die Strandloper Restaurant
To us, local is lekker. Local food, local staff, local taste – all on an a scale of international proportions. We welcome guests from far and wide. From Boksburg to Bangkok, from Cape Town to Cairo, we’re here to make sure you enjoy the ultimate in good, old-fashioned, down-to-earth, West Coast awesomeness. You’ll find us to be a tight-knit family who love what we do. Whether it’s building fires, turning grids, baking breads or simply making you feel right at home, we’re into fun, sun, surf and everything that goes with it.
We’ve been meeting, greeting and bringing our guests memorable moments since ‘pa fell off the bus’ (which in South Africa is a great way of saying we’ve been doing what we do for a very, very long time). Some of our staff (like Marie) have devoted almost their entire working lives to us. All have been born and raised in the region. We treat them with love and respect because that’s just the way we are.

We had humble beginnings as a sushi only take away stand in laguna mall 4 years ago. It was such a success that we decided to move to a bigger location. Since then we have been striving to create a place where you can have great food, maybe a few drinks and always a good time.
The meaning of the given name Thoban represents compassion, creativity, reliability, generosity, loyalty and family. Values that we hold very highly in our restaurant as well.
Marc’s Beach Bar Restaurant
Marc’s Beach Bar Restaurant is one of Langebaan’s landmarks not to be missed. With probably the best views in Langebaan our vibey bar and restaurant is a West Coast hotspot! Wine Estates
Groote Post: Groote post is a historic 18th century farm on the cape’s west coast where winemaking traditions have been revived by the pentz family. Unique aspects and cool climatic conditions of the darling hills yield superlative fruit. Our wines are produced to reflect the uniqueness of our vineyards.
Ormonde: Ormonde Private Cellar is situated on the West Coast of South Africa, where the rugged Darling hills roll and fall along the contours of a ancient granite intrusion. These molten rocks, forced from the earth to 300m above sea level, guard the Atlantic Ocean while banks of fog roll to the foot of the hills, blessing the vineyard with coolness and moisture.
Our soil composition varies between deep homogeneous soils, rich in iron and organic matter and harsh glenrosa forms, derived from the granite. These deep soils provide the ideal cradle for our vines.
The Cape Floral Kingdom is the richest reservoir of plant species in the world, comprising 9 600 species. The Darling wine region is home to 600 of these species flowering from September each year. Gladiolus Carinatus, commonly known as bloupypie, thrives on our terrior and symbolises the unique character and quality of our wines.
